Great food room service is fabulous Stuff are very friendly entertainment is great the animation teem are funny and very helpful
I have written a review for this resort in January but it has disappeared so I will try again. Grounds perfect clean and well maintained. Medical centre perfect my husband had a fall and they were amazing. Cleaning staff are lovely friendly and conscientious. We arrived at 22:00 hours and were ushered into the dining room very quickly. The food was being removed, we ordered a drink.. and was promptly told “we are finishing” however we got a small wine and a small meal. We were then taking to our room at the speed of light, the room was fabulous, its spacious and clean. The next morning we struggled even with the map to locate the dining room but once you found the beauty/massage centre it’s just a stones throw away. NEGATIVE POINTS The dining room could do with a deep clean the chairs are filthy from being continually pulled out plus some of the woodwork could do with a wipe down. ICE CREAM at the pool is chargeable Al a crate Restaurants are chargeable but not expensive. Bearing in mind the lateness of our arrival with very little selection on the day of our departure we were told we had to pay for tea/coffee or water at 14:00. Not a massive amount but I found that quite harsh while we waited for our taxi and that we had not had our lunch/drinks from day 1. In fact I found the reception staff were really unpleasant when I asked. We were there to celebrate my big birthday and the hotel were informed but failed to offer any assistance to my husband in making the day a pleasant one. The beauty and massage centre is a very hard sell. El Gouna is a fabulous place and so vibrant, I would go back. The Movenpick?? no I wouldn’t return nor recommend. Despite this hotel being a part of the Accor group this was not of the standard I was expecting. Even our taxi driver stated very many guests were not happy with their stay. Weekends are exceptionally busy with local people and the noise was awful late at night with music, furniture moving and children running around. Food was ok, the on site restaurants better. The old town has lovely restaurants and bars just a short tuk tuk ride or go to the marina. JANUARY 2025
I would like to say deep thank you to the medical team, in general, to Dr. Shawadfi, who was very professional and supportive during my stay. Because of the flight or the temparature outside I felt me enormously bad and had very strong headache. He measured the pressure and give me immediately a pill, which I asked for. Unfortunately, in the hotel was no pharmacy and no pills and I was shoes by the fact, cause I couldn’t stand it, but the doctor find his own pill and give it to me. Way to pharmacy from the hotel would be to long. I am very very thankful for his help and his caring attitude! I would say he is very professional! Thank you
Thanks, Fady! Here’s a polished version of your review. I’ve kept your tone and message intact while improving clarity, flow, and grammar: ⸻ You don’t get the value you’d expect for the amount you spend here. This resort charges a premium price, so naturally, you’d expect premium service. To start with the positives: the location is amazing, the beach is outstanding, and the layout of the hotel is truly beautiful. However, the experience fell short in several areas. The first room I was given had a blocked view. When I requested a better room, I was moved to another one in the same cluster and category—with a much better view. This made me wonder why I wasn’t given that room to begin with. It didn’t feel warm or welcoming. The buffet food was average on two of the three nights I stayed. The only exception was on Eid, when the quality noticeably improved. The other nights, the food was far from what you’d expect at a five-star resort. Another unpleasant surprise: drinks at the all-you-can-eat buffet are not included. You only find this out after sitting down and placing an order, when the waiter informs you that drinks are extra. I’m sure it’s mentioned somewhere in the fine print, but it’s not communicated clearly upfront—and again, it doesn’t feel hospitable. It’s frustrating to feel nickel-and-dimed at a supposedly high-end resort. Lastly, there weren’t many activities offered during the stay, which left the experience feeling a bit flat overall. version!
This was my second stay at the Mövenpick Resort & Spa El Gouna, and once again, it was a wonderful experience! I stayed in room 5206, which was simply magnificent — spacious, clean, and offering a perfect view. A special thank you to Mohamed from Guest Relations for the warm and professional welcome. He truly made me feel at home. I also want to thank Charif at the pool area — always attentive and friendly — and Walid from housekeeping, who kept the room spotless every day with a smile. The whole team contributed to making this stay unforgettable. I will definitely be coming back!
